Acne
Acne is a skin condition that can occur on the face, neck, back, chest, shoulders and upper arms. The cause of acne is not known. However, most dermatologists believe hormones are a major contributing factor in acne. Hormonal changes related to pregnancy, starting or stopping birth control pills, and the changes in the level of testosterone in males and females during puberty can also cause acne. Testosterone stimulates the sebaceous glands of the skin to enlarge, produce oil, and plug the pores. Whiteheads, blackheads, and pimples are formed. When acne is severe and forms deep "pus-filled" lumps, it is referred to as cystic acne.
Most teenagers get some form of acne but adults can also be affected by acne. Acne can be disfiguring and upsetting. If left untreated, acne can leave permanent scars. The goal in relieving your acne is to allow existing blemishes to heal and to prevent new acne breakouts. It is important to be patient. Improvement takes time.
The following are some common sense approaches to the may help you in the relief of your acne:
Drink Water - Good skin care always begins with drinking plenty of water. Optimizing your water intake helps keep your skin soft and less likely to have outbreaks. Limit caffeine and soft drink intake as it may increase outbreaks.
Cleanse Gently – Cleanse your face gently with a mild cleanser and warm (not hot) water daily. Washing too often, too vigorously or with harsh soaps and cleansers may injure your skin and actually make your acne worse.
Diet - Acne is not caused by foods but if certain foods seem to make your acne worse, try to avoid them. Of course, a balanced diet is always the best choice.
Don’t Touch - Avoid picking and squeezing at blemishes. This only makes them worse and actually makes blemishes take longer to heal.
Avoid oil-based products such as makeup, suntan lotions and oils, hair products, etc., that could aggravate acne.
Ack-Nee
Ack-Nee is a comprehensive formulation that addresses the variety of common factors associated with maintaining healthy skin.
Ack-Nee contains healthy nutrients that may help improve sugar tolerance, such as Chromium picolinate, and fatty acid metabolism such as L-Carnitine fumarate. Ack-Nee also addresses low zinc levels, which are commonly associated with increased conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which in turn stimulates sebum and keratin production. Selenium is added to increase glutathione peroxidase enzyme. Vitamin B6 supplementation plays a key role in the metabolism of steroidal hormones.
Ack-Nee is formulated in a proprietary herbal base of Goldenseal and Curcumin extracts, used traditionally for maintaining healthy skin. The digestive enzymes Protease, Amylase and Lipase improve digestive health and utilization of these important nutrients.
